Village Christian School (VCS) is a private, Evangelical Christian, K-12 school located in Sun Valley, California, a part of the City of Los Angeles. It was founded in 1949 by members of Village Church in nearby Burbank. The school has about 1,000 students.
Village Christian has been named, “Best Private School in Burbank,” by readers of the News Press Leader, a community paper of the Los Angeles Times, and twice voted as a “Favorite” in the Daily News Reader’s Choice Awards. Additionally, the school was featured in 2010 as a “Best Deal” on the Best Deals in Los Angeles broadcast on KCAL Channel 9 and KTLA Channel 5.
Filmmaker Brian Flemming is an alumnus and profiled the school in The God Who Wasn't There. He criticized the school for teaching students things that can not be verified as fact.
Another alumnus of Village Christian Schools is actor Paul Walker.
